The Catalyst for Action
A couple of days ago, I found myself exploring the program “Wandering Aimfully” by Jason and Caroline Zook. As a newcomer in the business arena, I’ve had a recurring idea that seemed impossible to bring to life. The realization struck me like lightning—I need to focus on generating active income. While passive income is often glorified, it’s not always feasible, especially in smaller economies. So here I am, determined to concentrate on a business idea and make it work.
Focusing on One Idea
I’ve always been haunted by the distraction of new ideas—call it shiny object syndrome or whatever fits. From now on, my commitment is to focus on one project for a few weeks until launch, before moving to the next. By documenting this journey, I hope to offer a raw and real perspective on building something from the ground up. This process might not be unique, but it’s authentic, and I’m sharing every step of the way.
Holding Myself Accountable
Having struggled with starting a side hustle in the past, I’m now committed to using this diary as a tool for accountability. Currently, dissatisfaction with my financial situation is pushing me to double my income. I dream of paying off my car, saving for a mortgage, and eliminating student debt. This journey aligns with my larger goals under the banner of the “Retire Happy Club.”
The Plan: Launch Sweet Treats
I’ve set a target to launch a sweet treats business. Markets in Barbados usually run on weekends, giving me the opportunity to prepare products ahead of time. My goal is to have everything ready by September 7th, aligning my logistics and planning to meet this challenge.
Stepping into Financial Freedom
Active income streams are essential on the road to financial freedom. You can’t rely solely on a 9-to-5 job, especially not in 2024. Embracing entrepreneurship and actively working on this project is my way of stepping closer to financial independence.
The Road Ahead
Every day, I plan to work intentionally using AI tools like ChatGPT to structure my tasks. Although I don’t have a business partner to brainstorm with, these digital aids provide the support I lack.
